Some weddings feel like they belong to a different era—rooted in tradition yet effortlessly modern. Bailey and Kole’s wedding in Springfield, Illinois, was exactly that. A day where love, family, and history intertwined in the most intentional way.
Bailey got ready in the home where she grew up, surrounded by the people who have known her best. The morning was calm, filled with quiet moments of anticipation. Kole, just a few miles away, adjusted his tie one last time before heading to Bailey’s childhood home—ready to see his bride.
Their ceremony at Blessed Sacrament Parish was deeply personal. Bailey walked down the aisle to Edelweiss, a song that held meaning far beyond its melody. With her deep ties to Germany and a lifelong love of The Sound of Music, it was a quiet homage to her heritage. Edelweiss flowers—symbols of devotion—were delicately woven into her bouquet and Kole’s boutonniere, a subtle but meaningful detail.
After the ceremony, the celebration moved to The Artisans Building, where guests were welcomed into a space that felt both intimate and grand. Candlelight flickered against the rustic architecture as music filled the room. And then, in a twist no one expected, history made an appearance—quite literally. A surprise Abraham Lincoln lookalike took to the dance floor, a nod to Bailey’s love for our 16th president. Laughter, champagne toasts, and an unforgettable party followed.
Soon, the couple will be off to Munich for their honeymoon, a fitting start to their next chapter together. But for one perfect day in Springfield, they were surrounded by the people who love them most, celebrating a story that felt entirely their own.
Captured by an Illinois wedding photographer, their wedding was a reminder that the most beautiful days aren’t just about the details—they’re about the people, the love, and the moments that linger long after the last dance.
A huge thank you to the wonderful team of vendors who helped this day unfold.
